Multan is one of the oldest cities of pakistan which is said to be 5000 BC historic oldest living city and is sister city of Rome,Italy.it is located 30120 N 71250E in the southern part of punjab province in Pakistan.Multan Features an arid climate with very hot summers and cold winter.The city witness some of the most extreme Temperature in the country ,Dust storms are a common occurrence within city .The Era around the city is a flat pain and is an ideal for agriculture with many citrus and ,mango farms.There are many canals that cut across the multan district providing water from nearby farms.this makes the land very fertile .However usually land close the chenab river and flooded in the monsoon season.
Bahuddin Zakariya University, Multan
Multan has always remained a centre of excellence in education. Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya (1172 - 1262 A.D.), a Muslim religious scholar and saint, established a school of higher learning in theology in Multan; where scholars from all over the world came for studies and research. The the University of Multan was establish in 1975. To pay homage to the Great Saint, the name was changed from University of Multan to Bahauddin Zakariya University in 1979.
The University is located at a distance of 10 km from the city center. The main Campus is spread over 960 acres of land with more than 30 departments/institutes.The university is widely known as an institution of strong performance and high ambition because it has continued to make excellent progress towards it goals.
Faculty of Veterinary Sciences ,BZU,Multan
This faculty was established in2006.it is very first veterinary faculty of southern punjab a highly populated emerging hub of livestock and poultry sector.It was accridated by Paksitan Vetterinary Medical council under the mentorship of Prof.Dr.Masood Akhter .Faculty comprises of four major departements.Earlier,Faculty has organized a conference on Red Meat with a Great Success.This 1st International Conference on Zoonoses will Bring International and National Masses together at the occasion and it will be Panoramic In Its Nature.
